Overview

Font Pak PRO is a DOS programmers' text-mode and/or graphics-mode font, symbol and mouse cursor shape system. Virtually any programmer can use it:  C, BASIC, COBOL, Visual Basic for DOS, Pascal, Assembler, PowerBASIC, etc.  C, BASIC and Pascal demo source code is included.   You (and your customers and colleagues) won't believe the types of things you can do with Font Pak PRO.  Download FP-Demo.Zip to see for yourself.

In text mode:  change fonts, display 2 or more fonts at once on the same screen, change mouse cursor shapes, display symbols (icons), change the number of lines on the screen and display tiny fonts or huge, 24-line fonts.  Change the shapes of lines and boxes (several examples included).  Create eye-popping screens and effects.

In graphics mode: display as many fonts at once as you like, change mouse cursor shapes effortlessly.

Tight, efficient, f-a-s-t assembler routines offer efficiency, speed and ease-of-use. LINK fonts to your programs and then call them by name to load them (e.g., MyFont ();).  Or load fonts from disk and keep .EXEs as small as possible.  Use the included font editor to create partial fonts with only the characters you want to change - keep .EXEs and font files as small as possible.

Registered versions include over 100 fonts, plus utilities to edit fonts, try them out, create callable fonts, etc..   See the description below.

Download FP-Demo.Zip to see examples of what any DOS programmer can do in text or graphics modes.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Under Microsoft Windows you must run Font Pak's demo and other programs in a full-screen DOS box.  If you open a small DOS "window," you'll probably see no change when you try out our fonts or run our demo program.  That's because Microsoft Windows prevents text-mode font changes in "windows."

Description

Font Pak is a DOS programmers' text-mode or graphics-mode font, symbol and mouse shape system. Virtually any programmer can use it:  C, BASIC, Visual Basic for DOS, Pascal, COBOL, Assembler, PowerBASIC, QuickBASIC, etc.  A VGA or EGA monitor (or better) is required to change text-mode fonts.

Font Pak helps programmers set their programs apart from the ordinary. Your user's (and your colleague's) mouths will drop when they see what you can do in TEXT -or- GRAPHICS modes.  You can use the same fonts in text or graphics modes - even in the same program if you like.

Not convinced?  Download FP-Demo.Zip and see for yourself!   Un-zip it and run the included .Exe file.

With Font Pak you can:

Change text-mode fonts.  Display 2 or more fonts at the same time - in text mode!  Use the same fonts in graphics modes as well, and display as many fonts as you like in graphics modes.

In text mode you can load 4-8 "sets" of fonts and switch among them at any time. You can link fonts to your programs and then just "call [font name]" to load fonts.  Or you can load fonts from disk!

And with Font Pak you can work with efficient "partial" fonts.  With some font systems you must re-map the entire ASCII character set - all 256 characters (and carry around 4,000+ byte font files for every font.)  But with Font Pak PRO, you can re-map just 1 character, 10, 100, or any or all of the 256 ASCII characters.  This helps you keep your font files and .EXEs as small as possible.

For example, re-map just keyboard characters, or just line-draw characters, or control codes (ASCII 0-31) or ASCII 224-255 - whatever and whenever you like. "Partial" fonts give you tremendous flexibility, and help keep font files and EXEs small.

Use Font Pak fonts in GRAPHICS mode, TEXT mode, or both, even in the same program if you like.  Our demo program shows examples of both.

Change MOUSE CURSOR SHAPES in TEXT mode. Choose from a library of over 80 mouse cursor shapes, or design your own. You can even use TWO mouse cursor shapes at once!

Display SYMBOLS.  Choose from a library of many 1-byte and 2-byte symbols.   Again, run our demo program to see examples.

Change the shape of LINES and BOXES. You're NO LONGER limited to square-cornered boxes. Choose rounded corners, bold or whimsical boxes, or design your own.

Enjoy Font Pak's incredible EFFICIENCY and EASE-OF-USE! If you add every option, your program's EXE size will increase by only about 3 - 6k (plus the size of any fonts you Link)!

Get up and running quickly.  Registered versions include:

Over 100 fonts you can use as-is, or edit to your liking.

"Libraries" of both symbols and mouse cursor shapes.

Small, fast, easy-to-use assembler language routines.

An incredible font editor. Edit fonts, merge partial fonts together, rotate characters, flip them, italicize them, and much more.

Font2Asm.Exe, a program to convert fonts to ASM/OBJ files you can Link to your programs.  Then, to load a font, just call it by name!
