Overview
 | The Printer is a DOS programmers' database of
printer codes for hundreds of printers! The
Printer helps eliminate a nightmare many programmers face: printing formatted text
on different printers, with each printer requiring different instructions, different
printer codes. |
| If you want bold here, italics there, this phrase
underlined, etc., you need the printer codes to "turn on" these
options. And if you distribute your programs, you'll need printer codes for the
dozens (or hundreds) of different printers your users have -- unless you want to limit
your audience! |
| But few programmers have the time and resources to obtain appropriate codes for
every printer. Fortunately, you don't have to: The Printer offers you codes
for hundreds of printers. |
| Any programmer writing in any language can use
The Printer. If you can read fixed-length records, you can use The Printer.
When your users run Printer.Exe and select their printer, we save a 2k file called
Printer.Cfg. Your program(s) need only look for and read Printer.Cfg and send it's
printer codes to the printer. If your user selects a different printer, your program
does NOT change! You just read the new Printer.Cfg file, and proceed as you did
before! |
| The PROFESSIONAL version of The Printer lets you expand
the compressed database, view, edit and/or add printer codes or printers (using our
incredibly powerful PDT program - included!), and then re-compile the data file into your
own custom version of The Printer. |

software in a hurry, we can e-mail it
to you. Just request e-mail delivery in the Special Instructions section
when you submit your order. The cost
is $6 for The Printer, and $12 for The Printer PRO. Before
requesting e-mail delivery, be sure your e-mail system can
handle e-mail attachments of up to 1.4 million bytes (the size of a standard 3 1/2 inch
floppy disk).
Shipping/Handling: U.S. Air Mail -- We'll add $4 shipping/handling for one
copy (U.S. only); $6 (Canada); $8 (Elsewhere). For each additional
copy, we'll add 1/2 the shipping charges for one copy.
